My reading of "The Big Message" was that Medium was trying to get rid of the formulaic writers at the top of the hierarchy. You are not one of them.
But can the algorithms discern the formulaic's from the creative's? That remains to be seen.
In the past four years, I have tried several times to publish something quite regularly. My stats never really improved. Nor did I acquire a loyal reader base.
Once a week is enough. It takes me a month to put together a major article together. I'm happy with the quality when I hit "publish," a satisfaction when I was publishing every day or second day.
And once in a while, I find an inspiration that takes only an hour or two to put together.
