My Resolution with an Internet Conglomerate

Yes, I won!

Last May, I had a dispute with a major software developer that specialized in anti-virus software.

I tried to resolve this dispute through the company’s two websites by clicking and banging. Each website stymied me to make appropriate changes. Each website did not make easy real communications with email or chat or phone. After a lot of banging, I managed somehow to get a chat with one agent. He could help me with one problem, but not the others. He said my credit card would be refunded C$209. I got email confirming the refund.

When my credit card statement came in, the refund did not come. I resigned myself that this company was cash-cowing its assets by not allowing customers to unsubscribe to services. If this company is on a path to liquidation in a few years, this makes good business sense. For the company; not for me or many other customers.

With my current subscriptions, this company could take another C$1000 from me before my credit card expires in mid-2025.
