My understanding of those studies is that--statistically speaking--children raised in two-parent families do better in life.

This does not anything away from great one-parent families. It does not condone inept two-parent families.

If we want an ever-advancing civilization, the studies say we should be encouraging two-parent families.

Setting up our neighborhoods to be more of a community would also help.
