What worked? Why?
Before I present my list of better performers of 2023, I should tell readers how I set my thresholds.
I divided my 45 Medium articles published from September to November into these three groups, which have equal numbers:
<$0.80: Below average
$0.80 — $1.60: Average
>$1.60: Above average
Some of you are probably chuckling at such low numbers. “Why is Dave pretending to be a writer?” you might be asking. After five years, I am still a bottom writer.
I have created a Medium series that lists my low performers that should have done better. Ironically, this series does better than most of my real articles.
But this article is about my winners, my virals.
“Viral” is perhaps a misnomer. I don’t think I’m anywhere close to the top writers. Maybe I’m breathing the dust from the middle writers. But this article is going to compare Dave to Dave. What are my top performers?
