Nice analogy from Numbers.

Sometimes it's a hard decision for politicians to decide on political expedience vs. principles. Part of the problem is that principle is often sacrificed to some degree. An "honest" politician can easily be caught in a paradox. As well, this "honest" politicians has colleagues in the same party who are not so honest. If he calls them out too early, he risks the party ending his political career.

It's time for another way.
