No doubt the standards are different. A male politician can wear the same suit all week and no one will notice. But a female politician must change her attire daily.
And if it is discovered that she has a closet full of nice clothes, she gets dinged with being a clothes horse. A male politician can have a closet full of $800 suits, and no one says a thing.
And then there is also the time required each day to prep oneself to meet the public. The males have the advantage there as well.
It's a strange world.
