No, I fully see the implications if January 6 is not adequately addressed. From a legal perspective, I don't think the commission can put people in prison. But maybe it will help the DOJ do its job better.

The most important event since Mr. Trump took his trip down the escalator was the November gubanatorial election in Virginia. Thirty percent of Americans voted for a party that has drifted to a one-party rule. The USA seems to have lost its ability to self-correct, politically speaking.

A Republican oligarchy is plausible.

American democarcy somehow bumbling along after 2025 is also plausible.

But I think the short-term destination is out of our hands--even though we might not know that destination yet.
