Not a fan of Ms. Martenchek, but this article is right on.
Without the Covid crisis and a fellow named George Floyd, this election would have been a solid Trump victory.
Of the 108m who did not vote in 2018, only 8m of them cast a vote in the D's direction. Not exactly the doors breaking down.
The statistic that bothers me most is that 48% of voters still voted for Mr. Trump. Had Mr. Trump been a CEO of a big public company, the coach of a professional football team, or a high school principal, he would have been soundly fired.
Ms. Martenchek has no solution for dealing with that 48%. But I do.
