Now that that's a good johnwayne tactic. Sell your audience what they want to buy. You can't get much more American than that?
If you get an order to shut down, you can claim a conspiracy. That should drive up sales.
I would even set up a "Stop the Steal" or Trump Election website. Take the donations of the foolish contributors. Even if these websites get 0.1% of the total donations, that should be a pretty good return on some PHP code and annual hosting fees.
But maybe these websites should be set up offshore, making it harder for American lawyers to shut them down. Sort of like tax havens.

Kidding aside, the Atlantic (when it was a Medium contributor) had an article of left-wing trolls pretending to be right-wingers on conservative internet forums. Their goal was to gain credibility yet just surreptitiously point out the flaws of conservative thinking. These people would be more effective in changing minds than all the left-wing writers on Medium.
They could supplement their trolling with a nice side business like you have suggested.
