On another forum where I was trying to promote the TDG, one commentator called me as the character in Jim Croce's song "Working in the Car Wash Blues." I deserve much more than whatever I am getting, or so the song goes. That comment stung, but there was some truth to that.

When I do not click on top writers, I find many compentent and good writers with similar traction as I have.

I don't know whether you have read this article of mine, but it shows that being a responder helps traction:

https://medium.com/tiered-democratic-governance/an-insight-into-medium-algorithms-34ec49f57936

But, I have admit, being a responder takes time and energy from other things of life. One of the comments was from a writer who said she has noticed a similar trend--and she is tired of responding to build her own traction.

In my first month in Medium, I recognized there was a high turnover of writers. There just is not enough tangible benefits for 90% of us. There are not enough "readers only."

Anyways, I too am winding down. Maybe one more article in September. I'm just about finished "The Yugas" and that book deserves a proper review--without the TDG messaging.

Despite the lack of traction, I have to admit the catharsis effect in moving ideas between my ears and putting them "out there."

I might keep a small presence on Medium. I'm trying to discipline myself not to spend time when 30-day views is greater than 1,000. Keep the catharsis effect going. Maybe I might get lucky with a real TDG fan.

As for MC, I would say that my articles on MC get a similar traction to Politically Speaking or Tiered Democratic Governance. If nothing else, I helped you prove the viability of your pub.
