On another internet forum I'm on, there seems to be an acceptance that political violence is inevitable. The USA (and other countries) will just have to muddle through it. The sentiment it is better to prosecute and assum the violence rather than to acquience.

Maybe the various agencies were waiting for enough of the American public to be accepting of the consequences.

There is going to be lots of study of these times.
