On other internet forums I have participated, whatever I had posted dies in a couple of weeks — even if the discussion is still lively.

Two nice things about Medium: 1) they allow lengthy articles, 2) Medium articles have a long shelf life. I’ve run across articles that are five years old! I am happy that my stuff is somewhere other my website, where other people can find it. My Medium articles will continue to work for me when I leave.
