One of my cousins had an interesting hypothesis. Wars are necessary every 20 years or so to alleviate this social condition. War is over, so not many "____paths" in society.

I'm working on an article about the upcoming civil war in the USA. Left-wing and right-wing militias will be engaged in many small battles. Maybe these battles will be necessary to relieve all that pent-up anger.
