Perhaps the most hated department of government are the various food safety programs. Eliminate these programs and we will cases and cases and cases of food poisoning in our society. Sorry we need laws and agents to enforce those laws, which includes shutting down businesses that don't have clean food prep practices.

The Food Stamps program in the USA is regarded as an inefficient way to deliver social services. It is so 1950s thinking, and Canada has moved past that. Eventually, that program must be replaced by a more efficient program, maybe straight to a UBI. So these workers' jobs need to go away.
