Prince Charles had an interesting quip about his involvement in the Biltmore Group, an organization accused of world domination. He said (something like):
"If we are indeed controlling the world, we are doing a rather poor job."
It is hard to determine how much of this globalization is random events as firms strive for profits or there is underlying river that is propping up these corporations.
My assessment of the International Monetary Fund is that this institution has gone rogue, no longer accountable to any politicians (even American politicians) or voters. Other than some ubercapitialistic idealogy, I don't think they have any real master plan either. But forces outside the IMF know how to profit from its decisions.
