RCV and PR would do a lot to improve democracy in the USA. I can see six viable parties in the USA if one of these systems is part of American democracy.

The drawback, I see, is that the parties will still be a big force in poltics. Election campaigns require money, money requires favors, and voters really don't the candidates very well.
