Reminds me of my time learning how to swim properly as an adult. I was about 35 before I could do a competent crawl, backstroke, and breaststroke. Butterfly is something to avoid.

Lane etiquette is important and one has to adjust to the number of swimmers in the pool. But there was one lady I could never please. She would scowl at me even if I was on the other side of the pool. The other swimmers had a chuckle with our conflict.
