Yes, WE THE PEOPLE are indeed broken. Part of the reason we are broken is because of the dysfunction we see in our government. Our government has become a model for everyday living for many. None of us should assume that our personal value systems have not been corrupted to some degree by what we are seeing on TV. For example, I too have perception that I am much smarter than the people who disagree with me. I have to consciously shake that attitude off.

The people see how the politicians behave. The people start evolving to that mindset. The politicians campaign to that mindset. They get elected and then ramp up the dysfunction. It is a viscous circle.

And that is one important reason why 1% of us need to step out of that circle and start working on a new democracy. This new democracy needs to develop a new constitution.
