Ron: Medium is my 10th forum I have tried to promote the TDG. I appreciate the higher level of civility and intellect here than those other places. Yet, these traits are still not where they should be.
Unlike the other forums, many contributors here have a profit agenda of some kind: sell a book, become a paid writer, become a recognized thinker. When this agenda is clouding our motives, the enlightened discourse we so want is compromised. It's almost a case of "Read my stuff, and I'll reluctantly read yours." Yes, this is part of my motivation.
Although I've been working on my TDG on the shelf since 1997, I have put it on the shelf several times to collect dust. Then I think of a new way to promote it--and blow the dust off. A natural time to put the project away was in February 2022. I tried some new things out (new website, three TDG novels, and Medium time). They did not work. It was time to look at things other than the TDG.
But certain life changes happened, like an older age means working 8 hours a day is not possible. Pensions are kicking in. I might as well continue putting in 10 hours a week into the TDG project.
My expectations are low. But I enjoy the entertainment and education Medium provides. I enjoy crafting my two articles a week.
If I could make $20 per article, I would and could write every day!

Like you, my best Medium article was a Pyrrhic victory. I kind of skewered two of Medium’s resident doomposters. I had both supporters and detractors. I earned $68.00! But I did not move anyone closer the TDG.
The response is a reflection of our society.
I am on the email subscriber list of several left-leaning think tanks. Once in a while, I respond to these emails with some TDG promo. And, almost always, nothing comes back.
But I had a response last week. The academic fellow was asking about my credentials. I had nothing to offer except my self-proclamation of an inventor of a new democracy. No second response has found its way into my email box yet. I can wait until next Friday.
I think I will suffer the same fate as Vincent Van Gogh: becoming famous after death. But I still have my ear intact.
