Someone is thinking out of the box.

About 25 years ago, when the internet was kind of young, I ran across a couple of fellows who had laid out "The Sahara Project," which was about irrigating parts of the Sahara. It was a pretty extensive website. These guys were out of the box.

But, to my recollection, they didn't make the connection of generating electricity to irrigate the depressions.
