I have a agree with much of your essay. We should have been making some of these moves 40 years, but we didn't.

As a former active party member, I saw politics as "dysfunctional." So I quit.

I would say that this your party would be subject to the same psychological dysfunctional as current parties. I have written an article on this situation:
