Thanks for the thoughtful response.
I'm not a believer in any Deep State, but if there is one, it should be overjoyed at the popular discussion of reforming democracy. These changes will keep the Deep State in place .
In the fall of 2018, I came to the conclusion that people who hang around internet political forums are not the movers and shakers that can move the world forward.
About the same time, I was able to surrendipitiuosly attend a conference on mental health in rural areas. There were great speakers and great breakout sessions. Both leaders and line workers in this field. These are the people who are already building a community. These are the people I need to be spending time with. If they like the TDG concept, they will find a few hours a month to help build it.
But attending confences like this is not within my finances and family constraints.
While Medium has better intellect and writing skills than those other forums, It took me about three months to figure out that the TDG was not going to get much traction on Medium either. But I stayed three years, for reasons given in my original article.
As for "starting an organization," my family, friends, and colleagues think I'm slightly insane for continuing with this project for 25 years. I am still an echo chamber of 1, albeit now with about 50 tepids internet fans.
There's a Persian saying "You cannot be a prophet in your own village." So much truth to that. I haven't been very good at tooting my own horn. And for a concept like the TDG, that horn needs to be tooted by others. I can only take this so far.
Anyways, the TDG website will still be active. The five TDG e-books will still be available for sale. The ideas will not be fully placed on the shelf to collect dust. History suggests I will pull it down at some point. I am thinking of about 2-3 years.
Unfortunately, things might have to get worse before they can get better.
