Stockholm Syndrome is an interesting insight. But I have two reasons for the clinging of support for Mr. Trump.

1. Political parties are very forgiving for those candidates who can win elections. Mr. Trump has a very loyal following that will come to the polls, and the R Party has no choice but to follow him. But if the D’s manage to find an edge in November 2020, the R’s will dump Mr. Trump fast.
2. When people make their political position clear to their social group, it is very hard to admit a mistake was made. Many Trumplings just cannot change their mind.
