Ten years ago, I believed that racism and misogyny had been more or less quelled. Women and people have risen to the top — even if they still had to go through a few obstacles placed by white men. There were still squareheads, but they were a small minority.
Five years ago, I came to the realization that we still have a long ways to to defeat these social illnesses. Your article articulates that so well. In a society that values free speech, you should have had the right to say what you wanted to say. The editor may not have agreed, but he should have let the article go ahead. He interfered because he is a squarehead.
