Political parties are also feudalistic in their structure. A small percentage of the population has a membership in a party. So that small group has a major say in the affairs of the nation.

And within the membership of the party, there is another feudalistic division. Most party members do very little for the party. The other 10% are active volunteers, and they set the stage for the internal contest within the party.

In essence, the political structure is controlled by maybe 0.01% of the population.
