I really though the school lockdowns would force student (at least at the high school levels) to develop the skills for more independent learning.
I was wrong. We have so much more to learn.
I have some experience with Athabasca University, which was a pioneer in distance post-secondary education. A student must be an independent learner to find success at Athabasa.
While dropout rates at Athabasca are quite high, a lot of people gained university degrees, working their school around the rest of their life challenges. .They moved at their own pace, which included choosing which courses to tackle first (pending proper prerequisites).
