I estimate a 10- to 20-year timeline----AFTER 1% of the population gets to building this system. I'm not sure when we will reach that 1%.

If, in the next decade, the USA is destined for a one-party state OR our agricultural lands become unable to feed us because of climate change, the TDG won't be ready in time.

But we could continue to bumble along, politically speaking, for next few decades.

And there will always be significant numbers of humans around regardless of whatever disasters may befall us. If they have the TDG working, they will be in a better position than various oligarchies at war with each other.

For the 1% building the TDG, the time commitment will be about 10 hours a month. TDG builders can still put in time into their other causes. Consider TDG building as "hedging our bets."
