Thanks for your reseasonable challenge to my article. If more people dialogue in this way, the "truth" would become more clear.

If you went to my "Promiscuity and Politics" link, I kind of describe places that are pick-up places, known to both genders of promiscuous players.

If a young woman goes to a frat party (or spring break) looking for casual sex, I guess that would be her perogative.

But if a young women is not inclined in that way yet believes she can handle the social pressure in these environments, she is engaging in more life risk than necessary. Similar to an aggressive driver, she will likely come out the party with no harm, but the chances are much higher for an "accident." If she attends 10 such parties in a year, the odds get worse and worse.

It is my understanding that the universities are trying to clamp down on the wild parties at fraternaties. Maybe they have had some success, but I would wager that score-score-score attitude is still quite high in fraternities.

And I should acknowledge that some fraternities are probably more responsible than others. There are good ways for young people to socialize and make friends (and possible find steady partners) and not have to get sh!t-faced drunk and do stupid things.

When our political leadership comes from a such a culture in their younger days--and fails to acknowledge how their actions made society worse, that is indeed a problem. A big problem.
