Democracy is an evolution. The new British Parliament of 1688 was an improvement over the Magna Carta. The American Constitution (very much a Westminster-type structure) was an improvement over the British Parliament. The quasi-democracies of Europe between 1850 to 1930 really didn't work out that well. But lessons were learned to create some better political structures after WW2.
And it should be noted that none of the European countries took much from the American model.
The question is now is the European model the penultimate system governance humanity can ever invent or is there semething even better?
