Thanks Fred-Rik
Over the past 3 years, I have been on about 10 internet forums — and tried various ways and perspectives and tricks to promote the TDG. Nothing has worked.
This recent article is sitting at about 15 views —five days after publishing. It might break 30 views. I’m not worried about this article discrediting the TDG. Maybe if the TDG gets real famous someday, but that will be a nice challenge for me to handle.
Medium does have a higher level of intellect than the other forums. I’m sure having lots of fun being a reader here! But that spark to learn something about a new political system is not here — or anywhere else.
My flagship article has 1,400 views, but mostly because I have promoted it on many comments to many Medium articles. We can argue that this flagship article has some flaws. But if only 1% of those views turned into TDG fans, the TDG would be “off to the races.” But . . .
Medium does have the advantage that I can park longer articles. So I’m going to put the six chapters of my TDG novel on Medium. Let’s see what happens. If no traction after that, I think it will be time to stay off internet forums for a few years.
As for search engines, I don’t think anybody is putting in keywords like “alternative systems of government.”
I’m going to try a Google ad campaign when the new website is set up (almost ready). I’ll spend $1000. If there is no traction, it will be time to put this project on the shelf again.
