Medium’s best writer (in my opinion) is Benjamin Sledge. He has recently published an article about how all this dystopia is causing a massive mental illness in society. And that illness paralyzes us. I’m in agreement with Mr. Sledge. His article is here:
My democracy requires average people to build it. We need neither the support nor the permission from the political elite, the wealthy, academia, or the media. We can start building it today!
I’ve been on Medium for three years. I’ve interacted with about 2000 people about building a new democracy: a kinder, wiser democracy. No takers! From my perspective, people have been inculcated into believing that no other democracy is possible, so there is no point in working toward a different kind of democracy. Mr. Sledge seems to be be right about this collective mental illness.

You can either investigate this new way. Or you can hope the Umair’s work will somehow permeate into the “politically wrong” crowd to change their voting intentions OR permeate into society’s decision makers.
In the meantime, Umair offers no solutions for average people to consider. But I am.
