That was a good reminder.

Canada has some history of police shooting protesters, and politicians have paid the consequences for that as well. Winnipeg riots is one that comes to mind.

Remember Kent State?

It's a really tough call to make: (1) let them protest and hope the energy get dissipated, or (2) start immediate tough action when the protest is no longer peaceful (which it is in this case (in my opinion)).
