The divide is plausible, something almost no one would have claimed 10 years ago.
If the divide does occur, what will be the new political re-arrangments?
We talk about red and blue states, but in reality, blue cities and red rural areas more aptly describe the divide. Does metro Philidelehia divorce iitself from its neighboring counties?
If we do have these divides--and subsequent migration, then would it not seem appropriate that the remnants revert to one-party rule--red or blue of their own choosing? That way, maybe 5 to 10% of the people can be of influence.
Demcracy is likely to get less with a divide.
It's time for a new way.
