The election of Mr. Trump AND the failure of his base to realize that he is not going to move the USA and world forward are signs that our electoral systems are no longer working.

It seems strange that we have discarded various models of chemistry, psychology, etc. to put in better models to help explain the world. Yet we have kept systems of governance in tact that more or less matured in 1850.

I fear that to move the world forward as Mr. Vacker suggests, we need a new model of governance.
