The founding fathers were a bit of an oxymoron. They obviously had incluhed their moral faults into the constitution. And yet they really thought of some innovative features. What's more impressive is that they had only one democratic example to learn from: the country they declared independence from.

But we are no longer in 1789. Since then, the sciences of sociology, psychology, political science, et al have matured. We almost need to move past that 1789 document because the science is so much butter.
