The "lack of guidance" was, in my opinion, a result of an inability to carry out the plan of inducing an "constitutional crisis." The plan was to get the "yahoos" riled up enough so they would do something really stupid (or should I say, "more stupider than what they did on January 6") to give reason to declare martial law. A better plan would have had more lieutenants on the ground with clear protest objectives. Apparently, the main planner was unaware Congress had procedures and hiding places to circumvent the nebulous "mob hysteria" plan and some wishful thinking.
What amazed me was how the pundits on Medium and elsewhere, at the time, failed to there was some kind of plan in place---to induce a constitutional crisis. I wrote about it a year ago:
Luckily, the main planner was not good at planning. But I'm pretty the current holders of power recognize the abilities to gather yahoos and rile them up. This is factor in decisions of the back rooms these days.
