The party needs to follow its own rules. If the rules need changing, then there is a process for changing the rules-----for the next internal election.

Mr. Biden's dropping out so late is unprecedented, but the rule should be clear to those ambitious people who want to replace Biden; i.e. they have to court the delegates already selected.

If people don't like those rules, then there is a process to change them-----for the next internal election.

The Canadian political parties have abandoned the delegate selection process (indirect elections) for their leadership contests. Now, all members of the party can vote via an online process.

Whether I or others like or dislike this way, we have to abide by the result.
