The polling is directing directing the actions of the DOJ. In the Virginia gubernatorial election, 30% of eligible voters still voted Republican--despite their obvious desire to dismantle American democracy.

Had that number dropped to 15%, a less cautious response would be enacted from the DOJ and Mr. Garland. He does need that "slam dunk" in these times.
