The recent trans debate has led me to believe that we are trying too hard to make the genders equal somehow. If a few people are born one gender yet want to think in another gender, this is suggesting (to me) that gender thinking has a high biological component to it. The trans people just have different biological connections.
As much as we may want a egalitarian world, there will always be more women working as nurses and more men working as electricians.

On a similar manner, I worked offshore Newfoundland in the 1980s. I spent a lot of time on a Norwegian rig called "The West Venture". The Norwegian crew did their oilpatch work in a kinder, wiser way than the American rigs. I think it rubbed off on many other workers.
BTW, I don't envision many women ever taking on this work.
