The rolling car with a flat tire is a great analogy.

I don't have a solution either, but whatever that solution is, it won't be found with current federal American politics.

I occasionally run into "Inside Olympia" on PBS, which describes the political happenings in Washington state. There it seems someone is trying something at the state level--and learning from the attempts. And these actions are not finding their way to the mainstream media, giving the impression that nothing is being done.

Ultimately, the disease is the political party (in my opinion). We need to learn how to govern without this institution.

And ultimately again, we are finding our happiness is so many wrong things. When we see our government behaving so dysfunctional, it is hard for many citizens to see a better happiness.
