The setting for this story was 1970 in a rural environment. The science of conflict resolution was well developed.

Maybe we are better today. But there's a lot of work yet to do.

My message for these kinds of community situations is not take things to personally. The sky is not likely to fall whether we choose Plan A or Plan B.
