The USA did teach the world about the value of democracy. When the people of a country could throw out its political leaders with a ballot, other nations took note.

Yet today's democracy is essentially an invention of the 18th century, somewhat refined in the 19th century. The world has moved to a different place.

It is time to start discussing a different way.
