There are many paradoxes within Trump, the R's, an the supporters. No amount of logic seems to cause them to think differently.

From my perspective, the support is coming from a future belief that they will be the beneficiaries of a new American society. They recognize the leader's flaws, but will put up with them if they get a higher position in the pecking order. Since 2016, they have believed Mr. Trump will deliver.

The fact that the Mr. Trump can rise so high is a sign of a broken democracy.

We need a new democracy.
