There are two different standards here. But I won't say CNN is giving Trump a free ride, like Foxx does.

Here's my hypothesis. Project 2025 was available for inspection & comment in April 2023. It took more than a year before the mainstream media would mention this manifesto.

They refused to bring it to public attention because they feared a Trump presidency would target them for a media shutdown. So these outlets have currying brownie points with the future censors.

60 Minutes interviewed Kamala Harris. They threw some fast and curvy hardballs at her. She was on the defensive the entire session. In my mind, she handled the interview well, but it was a no-win for her. But it's not hard for me to see that other voters would cast her as dodgy and incompetent. 60 Minutes may be able to defend itself if a Trump administration starts looking for media outlets to shut down. They will bow more if needed.

There is another political writer on Medium who is critical of Ms. Harris, even though she is more critical of Mr. Trump. She too is doing more damage than good. No one is perfect for this job.
