There is an organization that places young people to roleplay Canadian politicians in a mock Canadian Parliament. The idea is to train young people to be future political leaders.
When I catch video clips of these sessions, I can only think of how wrong we are teaching them.
Part of me can envision the young people taking mi TDG concept and running with it to build a new democracy. They have nothing to lose .
But another part of me says that people with mental illness often cannot see the forest or the trees. When your vision is so clouded, a new democracy does not make sense. So can we count on young people to make this shift?
But what about the adults? Especially when we are trying teach them the "current" ways?
