There is indeed a lot of cherry-picking in applying particular Bible verses to life situations.

My wife and I like watching videos of Andy Stanley, a TV preacher from Atlanta. He has said several times that Christians laws are for Christians to follow. Christians should not impose Christian laws onto non-Christians.

To me, that is the answer.

And if we believe in heaven or hell, there will be higher judgment on us in the afterlife if we seem to get away with the transgression in this life.

This whole abortion thing should be a moot point — theologically speaking.
