There is no doubt that the USA could be heading for "theocratic capitalism." As far as I can see, 30% of Americans would prefer a one-party state than a democracy. The 30% sense a new social order is in the wings; they can see themselves in a higher position in that order.
This movement is also starting to show its head in Canada. Canada will follow the American lead. The Trucker's Protest in February 2022 was funded largely by American money.
As I said in my previous post, I'm out of touch of recent Democrat legislative initiatives. When I was watching, the legislative agenda was not good. All your cheerleading will not change that.
Maybe these new initiatives have a better nature. If so, positive outcomes will not be realized for at least five years, maybe more. So, in terms of election 2024, this still is a moot point.

Hoping that more people read the legislative docket--and decide to vote D next time--is only hoping. Sorry, most people will not do this research because:
1) they don't have the time and energy just with normal life,
2) they are preoccupied with other things,
3) the media focuses them in more dramatical political things, like the indictment of Mr. Trump, &
4) they don't have the capacity to fully understand.
Political junkies just cannot understand that the rest of the people do not take politics as seriously.
--------------
I accept this "apathy" as a given. Deep down inside, most people just want government to go to the background.
In my alternative democracy, all the citizens still have voting rights. But they are more trusting of the decisions of government. Hence there is no need to generate drama to throw the bad people out or start a revolution.

In the 1950s, Isaac Asimov prophecized democracy has a shelf life of two to three centuries. It seems his prophecy is coming true.
Or maybe American democracy will continue to bumble again. If so, it is not building the progressive world it should be building.
