There is no 'ology or 'ism that is going to save our increasingly complex society. Here's my brief take on political philosophy:

1) There are situations where society needs to leave individuals to their own decisions and live with the consequences.

2) There are situations where society need to act collectively to better society.

3) The decisions of 1 and 2 shall be conducted with a due democratic process.

4) All decisions need monitoring and adjusting.

But to go completely in one direction or the other is a recipe for disaster.
