There were many Gaelic communities in eastern Canada. My quick research says that only 2000 speakers live in Nova Scotia. But for sure, Gaelic did influence the accent of English.

I worked in Newfoundland for a short time. Sometimes the accent was too thick, and I had to find a translator.

Aboriginal communities often have their own accent of English. This is across Canada.
