There will be a lot of “soft” support voters will not want to risk infection by going to the voting station. And will the elections be able to find those people to work in these very public gatherings? Covid-19 has really hampered a normal election in so many ways. Predictions are pretty useless in these times.

And the losing side can make a credible claim that the election was rigged in some way.

I like your comment about certain campaign strategies are probably not that effective. The ground team is one of them. If a political party had to pay minimum wage to those volunteers to help get out the vote, it would abandon the ground team pretty quick. Yes, ground teams do bring in votes, but….

Unfortunately, more resources are likely to go to social media, mostly to convince the soft support of the other side to stay home on election day. I’m not seeing how that is improving democracy.
